Ceramic Flat Hair Iron : Buyer Beware
Now it is true that the classic straight haired look is something coveted by all, and this brings us to the tremendous popularity of the flat iron, particularly the ceramic flat iron which claims to heat quicker and more uniformly that the conventional metal ones. It is true that this kind of hair straightening device gives quicker results, but there is some evidence now to suggest that using it too often and on a high temperature setting can damage hair and lead to breakage of hair.
Experts have opined that these straightening implements can really take a toll on the structure of the hair and cause very noticeable problems that can be hard to repair. The excessive heat from the iron breaks and then reforms the hydrogen bonds in the inner core of the hair fiber and damage to the outer protective cuticle can result in weathering, damage and eventual hair breakage. Damage can be especially acute to color treated hair or hair that is damaged to begin with.
So keep this in mind if you are planning of buy one of these or already have and use them.
