Diets and Hair Loss

We have talked about how you can eat healthy for healthy hair, and how poor nutrition could lead to fading and drying of hair and even premature graying.  Sometimes a crash diet could also have the same effect on the hair and also lead to hair loss.

An often over looked side effect of yoyo diets, crash diets and fad diets is that sufficient nutrients are not reaching your hair and skin.  Your body faces shortage of essential nutrients and vital supplies of energy to function appropriately leading to several problems including hair loss. Your metabolism as well as your body’s rhythm can be severely affected too by unmanaged dieting.

When we talk about crash diets we are talking about all other methods of rapid weight reduction, such as extreme exercising, sleep deprivation, pills and potions that supposedly make you lose weight etc. any and all of these could cause the kind of imbalances in your body that ultimately lead to hair loss.

So if you suffer from sudden and inexplicable hair loss, the culprit may not be far to find, it could be your new diet!
