Can Botox Remedy Hair Loss?
It has been noted in recent times that Botox could be a possible remedy for hair loss. According to one Californian doctor, significant results have been seen using Botox, to re-grow hair lost due to chemotherapy.
The California based plastic surgeon says that he had injected his mother’s scalp with Botox to see if it could alleviate migraine headaches she had been suffering from as a result of chemotherapy. It was the same chemotherapy that also caused her to lose her hair, which hair was then seen to have been given a beneficial boost due to the Botox injection.
The Botox was administered as a muscle relaxant to relive pain, and seemed to have the positive side effect of causing lost hair to grow back. The doctor noted that when a vitamin supplement was added to the Botox, it had an even more beneficial effect.
The doctor claims that he made this discovery three years back and that he has successfully been carrying out tests on volunteers thereafter as well. Further research on this subject is currently ongoing.
