An Accidental Hair Loss Cure

Scientists were looking for a solution to stress but stumbled upon a solution for hair loss by accident in a recent study conducted by the scientist at UCLA and the Veterans Administration.

The study was meant to examine how the functions of the digestive tract are impacted by stress that a person undergoes. In the process the researchers stumbled upon a compound; a chemical that was seen to block a hormone related to stress that was also known to trigger hair loss.

The study was conducted on mice, which found that the stress hormone called corticotrophin-releasing factor was responsible for hair loss. When a peptide called astressin-B was administered this was seen to re-grow hair among mice who had previously been bald.

Since researchers found that astressin-B was able to re-grow hair, remedies involving this chemical compound could in theory also help people with stress as well as help re grow lost hair. For this further study will of course be required.

Pig Bladder Chemical – A Cure for Baldness

Just when you thought you had heard it all, along comes some more bizarre and unusual cure for hair loss than you have ever seen. The latest one now is a chemical from pigs’ bladders for hair loss!

A Harley Street Doctor of London, Dr Raghu Reddy has developed this therapy for male pattern baldness that uses platelet-rich plasma taken from the blood of the patient as well as pigs’ bladder extract which is then injected into the scalp of the person experiencing hair loss.

The doctor claims that this treatment may be very effective for those who suffer from light or moderate hair loss to help not only arrest hair loss but even help restore lost hair by forming a protective layer for the existing healthy hair.
