The bikini area is perhaps the most problematic of all body parts for women in terms of hair removal. Pubic hair is thick and coarse. The area is extremely delicate, thus making procedures like waxing extremely painful.
Shaving is a good and painless option for bikini hair removal. The down side is that the hair come back as soon as the next day. One must be extremely careful while using a razor in the pubic area.
Hair removal creams can also be used for pubic hair removal. A patch test should first be done to ensure that the skin is not sensitive to it and does not react unfavorably. Here too, the hair would come back very soon as it has been removed from the surface of the skin.
A lot of women prefer to bet a bikini wax done despite the pain. Bikini waxing can make the pubic skin smooth and free from hair for a few weeks at a time. A Brazilian wax is famous for the pubic area. Care should be taken that infections do not take place on freshly waxed skin as the pores are all exposed at that time. Such infections, or even incorrectly pulling the strip of cloth, could later lead to boils and skin outbreaks in that area. Waxing is also known to lead to ingrown hair in the bikini area. If not treated immediately, ingrown hair could lead to boils and a lot of pain and discomfort.
